《以聚合梅連鎖反應偵測口腔鱗狀上皮細胞癌組織之人類乳突瘤病毒與EB病毒之研究》
目前發現有一些惡性腫瘤與病毒的感染有密切的關係,在頭頸部及口腔中常見的病毒感染有腺病毒
(adenoviruses)、Epstein-Barr 病毒(EBV)、單純庖疹病毒(herpes simplex virus)、人類乳突瘤病毒
(human papillomaviruses)等。本研究的主要目的主要是利用聚合梅鏈反應(polymerase chain reaction, PCR)
來探討口腔鱗狀細胞癌與Epstein-Barr 病毒及人類乳突瘤病毒感染率之間的關係。
本研究的結果,以有無嚼食檳榔習慣來區分,則有嚼食檳榔習慣者的HPV-16感染率為34% ,無嚼食
檳榔習慣者的HPV-16感染率為17%,全部樣本之 HPV-16的感染率為32%。EBV的感染率以有無嚼食檳榔
習慣來區分,則有嚼食檳榔習慣者的EBV感染率為50% ,無嚼食檳榔習慣的EBV感染率為33% ,全部樣
本之感染率為48% 。總結本研究的結果,發現HPV-16及EBV的感染,有嚼食檳榔習慣者之EBV感染率與
正常人之比較,是有統計學上的意義。因此EBV的感染對於嚼食檳榔者之口腔黏膜的癌化可能具有某些
促進作用,而可能具有某些重要的意義。

《The Study of Oral Condition with Oral Hygiene Knowledge,Attitude and Practice
of University Students in Kaohsiung Cit》
Recently, the intimate association of malignant tumors and some virus infection was reported in some papers. The viruses
frequently have been found in head and neck infection, particularly adenoviruses, Epstein-Barr viruses, herpes simplex
viruses, human papillomaviruses etc. Our study is that we want to understand the relationship of oral squamous cell
carcinoma and virus infection and by using polymerase chain reaction method.Our results showed that HPV-16 DNA could
be identified in 16 out of 50 oral cancer patients (32%). The oral cancer patients are divided between the groups of betel
nut chewing habit and the groups of non-betel nut chewing habit. HPV-16 DNA could be identified in 15 out of 44 oral
cancer patients of betel nut chewing habit (34%) and HPV-16 DNA could be identified in 1 out of 6 oral cancer patients
of non-betel nut chewing habit (17%). EBV DNA could be identified in 24 out of 50 oral cancer patients (48%). EBV
DNA could be identified in 22 out of 44 oral cancer patients of betel nut chewing habit (50%) and EBV DNA could be
identified in 2 out of 6 oral cancer patients of non-betel nut chewing habit (33%). According to our results, we initially
suggest that HPV-16 or EBV infection may be play a role to promote the carcinogenesis of oral mucosal epithelium.
